Privacy policy

What this site collects, why it collects it, and how to have it removed.

Who we are

navybluecolorcode.com is a colour reference website published at https://navybluecolorcode.com. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit, why it is collected and what control you have over it.

Information you give us

The only place on this site where you can submit information is the contact form. It asks for your name, email address, a subject line and a message. That information is used for one purpose: to read and reply to your message. We do not add contact form submissions to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share them with third parties for marketing.

Messages are retained for as long as they remain useful for support and correction history, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your message and email address at any time by writing to the address at the end of this policy.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs. These typically include your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring page and a timestamp. Logs are used to keep the site secure and available, to diagnose errors and to understand which pages are being read. They are not used to build a profile of you as an individual.

Cookies

The site itself sets one cookie, and only when you visit the contact page. It is a standard PHP session cookie used to protect the form against cross-site request forgery and automated spam. It contains no personal information, expires when you close your browser, and is not used for tracking or advertising.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels or social media embeds that set cookies on our behalf. If we ever add analytics, this policy will be updated before that change goes live.

Third parties

Our web host processes requests on our behalf and therefore has access to the server logs described above. Email you send through the contact form is delivered through standard mail infrastructure. We choose providers that offer reasonable security practices, but no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other sites

Some articles link to external resources such as the WCAG specification or browser documentation. Once you follow a link, the destination site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over how those sites handle your data.

Children

This site publishes technical colour reference material and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, tell us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only personal information we hold is what you voluntarily send through the contact form, these requests are usually simple to fulfil. Write to us and we will respond within thirty days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new update date. Material changes, such as the introduction of analytics or advertising, will be described explicitly rather than buried in a general revision.

Questions about this page

If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] or use the contact form and we will explain it in plain terms.
